Ina Garten is known as a well-known American cook book author for many decades. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa and began its run in 2002. Ina started her career in the White House as a writer of nuclear energy policy documents as well as the budget. Although she found her job intellectually stimulating initially eventually she stopped her pursuit and bought a tiny speciality food shop - Barefoot Contessa. It took her 18 years to make the store extremely successful before letting it go before acquiring a pen to write her first cookbook. Many more cookbooks as well as magazine columns which were added. The Food Network TV show also was launched which was an enormous hit. Ina sells a variety of items, from the ingredients needed for cooking, to kitchenware and storage. Ina was never to any cooking school and has not been employed in restaurants. She is self-taught. Her name is associated with her casual style of creating and entertaining. Some of her most popular recipes include Skillet and Roasted Lemon Chicken Mac and Cheese, Mac, Beef Bourguignon and cheese paired with Beatty's Chocolate Cake as well as Lemon Bars.
